 Top Ten Shootout

The ten members (final standings) who have accumulated the most loot during the 2004 season are invited to participate in this event. If one or more of them cannot or does not wish to play they will be replaced by members with the next best records.

Location: Tilden

Fee: $25 Buy-in - Greens fees are waived.

Format: 9 hole shootout with handicaps beginning on hole #10. At each hole the competitor with the worst score will be eliminated. In the event of ties for the worst score, a chip off will be held to determine who walks away dejectedly.

Date: December 5

Starting Time: Approximately 7:00 AM

Results:  Here's Rod Lee's report of the action:

Weather Cold and colder but dry.  Todd, Johns, Mertens, Johnson are late entries for no shows.
 
Hole 10,  Dave Todd never sees the fairway and is eliminated with an ugly, ugly seven
 
Hole 11, Dennis Watt is eliminated with an "I can't get out of the creek" six
 
Hole 12,  Jeff Mertens is eliminated with borrowed clubs to blame.
 
Hole 13, Tony Gilliam is eliminated in the first chip off.
 
14 hole, Chris Utter cannot survive the sand off,  after Casella leaves his attempt in the trap and Chris also fails to get out.
 
15 hole, Pat Johnson cannot survive hitting one into the right hazard.
 
16 hole, Will Bard is eliminated after blasting his ball out of bounds from the right trap.
 
17 hole, David Watt is eliminated after pulling his approach left.
 
18 hole, Les Johns nails a pitching wedge to 18 inches to beat Joe Casella who missed a long birdie putt and concedes
 
It was a great day, and this is what golf is all about.
