2005 Tilden Cup

I believe this is the inaugural year for the Tilden Cup.

Location: Tilden

Format: Chapman team competition. In this form of competition both players on a side tee off and then they switch balls. Player A plays Player B's drive and vice versa. After each player has hit his or her second shot, the team then selects one ball and plays that the rest of the way with the team members alternating shots. The player who's second shot is not chosen plays the third shot.  In other words, switch balls after the drive; select one ball after the second shots, and play alternately until the ball is holed. Each team will be given 80% of their team total handicap. The team handicap will be subtracted from the team's total score.

Results: By some unfathomable combination of dumb luck and sheer cosmic perversity Joe Casella and Bob Burger managed to win the much coveted although heretofore unavailable Tilden Cup. How the main stream media failed to notice is beyond the understanding of this observer.
